Fashion: Colour Guide

Yellow represents the sanguine temperament. It is the symbol of the sun in the zenith. In colour psychology, yellow represents loose merriment. It relates to the digestive tract and the glandular and lymphatic systems. Yellow is the colour of the left side of the brain and, therefore, the colour of intellect.

Blue, the colour of peace and infinity, represents the melancholic temperament. Blue brings deep calming and relaxation. It has a disinfecting and subsiding effect. Blue can loosen spasm (migraine) and support sleep.

Green represents the phlegmatic temperament and is regarded as a neutral factor. It has a harmonising, balancing effect. Green is the colour of owning and wanting to own. It is also related to concentration, exact control and analysis, consequent logic as well as registering and remembering. Green is the most important colour for treating the metabolism.

Red represents the choleric temperament. It is called the colour of life, the glowing sun and fire. Love and joy, anger and rage are the polar strengths of the colour red. It relates to the heart and lungs. Therefore, red increases the pulse, blood pressure and breathing frequency. Red supports circulation and is often used for non-inflammatory processes as a warm colour.

Orange is the colour of merriment and happiness. It relates to warmth and kindness of heart. In colour therapies, it is usually the psychological illnesses where orange is used. Ongoing tiredness and lack of enthusiasm can be dissolved through treatments with orange. Orange also supports ambition.

Violet is the colour of emotion and the right brain - it is therefore a meditative colour. A touch of magic is attached to it. Violet can lead to a deeply spiritual release. Intuition and imagination are increased. Violet can be regarded as a regulator of the interface between psyche and body.

Turquoise represents the connecting strength between the outer and inner aspects of our life. Within the double function (outside - body, inside - spirit) turquoise changes. The outside relation is of a darker colour than the inside line. Dark turquoise relates to the psychological symptoms of the outside, the body. Light turquoise, as a soul-spirit-colour and equivalent to the inside, refers to blockages that lead the patient - subconsciously - into stasis, e.g. depression. Sometimes the use of this colour in therapy triggers sudden strong psychological-physical reactions, which generally often make place for well-being after a short while. The colour light turquoise belongs to the soul-spirit-colours.

Light green (also a soul-spirit-colour) is the colour of pure selfless goodness. Here, the compulsive - worldly green rises to the non-compulsive, pure yellow green. It usually relates to the right side of the body. Crimson, as a soul-spirit-colour holds the power over the thoughts. As a colour of pure humanity and power over the blood, it is regarded as a transparency of highest crystallisation.

Crimson is an indicator for the absolute inner being, as it is the complementary colour of light green. Reactions to outside influences take place, which are, however, constantly in agreement with the deepest core of the being.

Rosé as a soul-spirit-colour, symbolises the beginning and is helpful in finding a new direction in life. Before the rise of life from the absolutely coarse, dark matter over the many different levels of grey finds fulfilment in the pure, white matter, the red-yellow side becomes the touch of rosé, the blue-green side turns into fine, light turquoise. Through these two colour transitions, soul and spirit are eventually united in pure white.
